Provisional 2 year Certificate is a valid teaching certificate in Missouri, with a 2 year term. Used in conjunction with an academic contract. The Academic contract may include subject matter courses in addition to pedagogy. This program has a stronger field experience component then the temporary certification. This certification requires a single subject matter Praxis II test.

Temporary Authorization Certificate is a valid one year certificate in Missouri. It can be renewed on a yearly basis if the applicant completes 9 credit hours from their study plan. The study plan for regular education teachers can not exceed 24 credit hours and no more then 29 credit hours for special education. This certification requires two Praxis II tests from regular education certification, one test deals with subject matter and the other with pedagogy. Special education has three tests, two that deal with subject matter and one the deals with pedagogy.
