ALTERNATIVE CERTIFICATION

Application Procedures  

1. You need to complete the application (MS.doc or PDF) and submit it to the Office of Certification and Assessment, 301 Scully.

2. Include your transcripts (copies are OK at this point)

3. $25.00 check made payable to Southeast Missouri State University as a nonrefundable fee for transcript review.

4. Upon your transcript review a recommendation will be made for the appropriate type of alternative certification and subject area(s).

5. If offered a teaching job with a Missouri School district, you and the district will complete and submit to the Certification Office a joint application for your certificate.

An Application for Provisional Certificate (Joint Application).

An Application for Temporary Certificate (Joint Application). (complete only pages 4 & 5)

 6. Submit original transcripts

 7. A plan of study or an academic contact will be created by our office; you will need to sign this document.

 8. You must apply for admission to Southeast Missouri State University.

 9. Follow your study plan or academic contract.
