It is important to know how to contact your instructor before the first day of class. Instructor e-mails can be found under the “My Courses” tab in the portal at http://portal.semo.edu, under the course list at http:// online.semo.edu, or through the “People Search” found at http://www.semo.edu. E-mail is your connection to your instructor. It is important to maintain open communication and to check your Southeast e-mail frequently. When contacting your instructor, always use your Southeast e-mail. An instructor’s e-mail program may not recognize outside addresses and you risk the chance of your e-mail being deleted as “spam.”
If your class requires a textbook, it will be noted in the instructor’s course website. If you cannot determine whether or not a textbook is required, please contact your instructor. You can order online and rental textbooks can be mailed to you by contacting Textbook Services at http://www2.semo.edu/bookstore/rentalwebitv.html or calling 573-651-2236. Undergraduate workbooks, supplemental materials and all graduate textbooks can be purchased at http://www2.semo.edu/bookstore or by calling 573-651-2526. If textbooks are rented in-person, they must be returned by 4:00 p.m. the Monday after finals, or you will be billed for the purchase price of the books. If textbooks were requested via mail, they must be postmarked no later than the Monday after finals. Ship your textbooks back to: You may purchase the textbook at anytime during the semester through the last day to return textbooks and your rental fee will be credited to your account. To purchase textbooks for the current semester, login at http://portal.semo.edu/, go to “My Southeast Self-Service” on the Student tab. Once there, click "Student & Financial Aid," then "Textbook Rental Display" for more information. Your rental fee will be deducted from the purchase price. Please note that all sales are final.
