How Can my Instructor Lecture?

Just as I am having a conversation with you while you are working your way through this demonstration course, your online instructor will provide you with insights and conversations on topics relevant to the course material.  Online learning also gives you the opportunity to take a more active role in the learning process by conducting research over the internet, completing interactive or virtual assignments, and much more.  The lectures are no longer limited to classroom discussions and activities...the world wide web is now at your disposal as a wonderful learning tool.

For some of the samples you'll find below you will need to hit the back button on your browser to come back to this page.

If you would like to see a short video clip about how students at Southeast use technology in their everyday lives click here. To view the tutorial below, you will need Macromedia Flash.  If you do not already have this program on your computer, you can download it for free here. When you are finished viewing the tutorial, hit the back button on the navigation bar to return to this page.

Some instructors use PowerPoint to illustrate their online lectures.  Click here to view a sample PowerPoint about what Southeast Online is and some helpful tips. Click on the numbers to the right to view the different slides of the PowerPoint. When you are finished viewing the tutorial, hit the back button on the navigation bar to return to this page.

Other types of files instructors may use in their lectures or assignments include:

PDF or Portable Document Format. PDF's maintain the formatting, colors, etc. of the original file no matter what browser you open it the file in.  This means that the you don't need to have a copy of the software the document was originally created in.  For example, if I created a document in WordPerfect, but you only have Word, you will still be able to see the document. Click here to see the PDF version of the Online Student Guidebook. When you are finished viewing the tutorial, hit the back button on the navigation bar to return to this page. You will need Adobe Acrobat to download the file.  If you don't have it, you can download free at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.

Interactive and  Animated Tools.  Some instructors will you interactive websites to illustrate a premise or theory.  Click here to see a sample of an interactive lab assignment. When you are finished viewing the tutorial, hit the back button on the navigation bar to return to this page.
