What to do in case of connection problems while taking an online test

When you click on the "Take Test" button to start a test, the server records your username and sends out a test file to your browser.  From that point on, there is no interaction with the server until one of these actions happen:

  1. You submit the test, OR
  2. You save your answers, OR
  3. You click on the "Previous" or "Next" buttons if the test is given in multiple screens.

Therefore, it is entirely possible that you take an online test while your computer is disconnected from the Internet (provided that the test is not given in multiple screens.)  However, your answers will only be recorded if your connection is restored before you click on "Save" or "Submit."  If you try to submit your answers when your computer is disconnected from the Internet, you will see an error message on the screen stating that the page could not be found.  If this happens, do not panic!  All you have to do is reconnect to the Internet and, once the connection has been restored, click on the "Refresh" or "Reload" button of your browser.  Do not close the browser or hit the "Back" button or you will lose your test answers.
