Manually Installing or Updating the iLinc Client
The iLinc client is installed and updated on demand when a user attempts to log on to a session. However, firewalls and security software can prevent the update process from running properly. If, when attempting to join a class, iLinc started the client update process and failed for some reason, you will have to update the client manually by following the steps below:
ATTENTION: These instructions assume you are using Internet Explorer 8. The steps should be just slightly different for other browsers.
1.
Click on this link to download the iLinc client.
2.
When prompted, click on the "Run" button to download and run the installer.
3.
Wait until the client is downloaded. This might take a few minutes, depending on your Internet connection speed.
4.
When prompted again if you want to run the "iLinc Software" from "iLinc Communications", click on the Run button.
5.
Choose Yes when asked if you want to install the iLinc client.
6.
If everything worked as expected, you should see a message saying "The Client is ready to use!" Click Finish and log on to your class nomally.
